Two podiums in Lenzerheide

Pauline Ferrand-Prévot continued her scintillating form on the weekend with a XCO Short Track World Cup victory on Friday 9 August, followed by a third place in yesterday’s XCO World Cup, both in Lenzerheide, Switzerland.

In the Lenzerheide Short Track World Cup, “I took a good start in the short track race but then I crashed on the second lap. I already dropped back to 12th place with a big gap to the front group. So I was thinking to concentrate to finish in the top 16 for the start line on Sunday. But in the end, I was feeling good and I could come back to the leaders. I knew I needed to be in front before the technical descent and then it was a long sprint, again against Jolanda Neff. I was very happy to get my first Short Track World Cup win!”

Third in Lenzerheide XCO World Cup, “I’m feeling really good at the moment. The track in Lenzerheide doesn’t really suit my strengths, and previously the best that I’ve finished here was 19th. Now to get third, and another podium, I think it gives me even more confidence. I made a couple of mistakes during the race focusing on the wrong things, but I’ve already noted it and will improve on for next time. Now, I have a short week of recovery and training at home in France, before going to Canada to prepare for the world championships in Mont-Saint-Anne.”
