Roster for Liège-Bastogne-Liège

We announce our roster for the final Ardennes Classic, Liège-Bastogne-Liège on Sunday 25 April in Belgium. The line-up includes Kasia Niewiadoma who was second at La Fléche Wallonne on Wednesday. Alongside the Polish rider is Alena Amialiusik, Hannah Barnes, Elise Chabbey, Tiffany Cromwell and Mikayla Harvey.

The 2021 edition adds new climbs to its 140 kilometre parcours that Kasia believes will make an impact on the race.

“The extra climbs will definitely change the dynamic of the race. When we have something new included in a race, I feel like riders are especially aware of those moments. It presents an opportunity to make the race as hard as possible and many different teams will try and take the chance,” said Kasia.

“Most of the peloton would like to have a reduced group coming into Côte de La Redoute after 105 kilometres, and we already have new climbs before this part of the race so I’m quite confident it will be a smaller group coming into La Redoute.”

“The second last climb, Côte des Forges will be a hard one because even though it’s not that steep and it’s on a wide road. You have to remember that the peloton by then has already done a lot of climbing and the race will have been hard.”

Kasia added, “There are so many opportunities on the course on Sunday to send a group away with some key riders to be present. Teams will be on high alert and try to make that happen. We’re all excited to get out there and go racing on Sunday!”

The Run Up, a new web series showing some of the best teams and cyclists on the Women’s World Tour will premiere on April 24, one day before the Ardennes Classic finale. The first episode will be shown free on YouTube and here.

Liège-Bastogne-Liège starts at 08:40CEST and can be followed on Twitter with #UCIWWT and #LBLwomen. The race is broadcast live only from 11:20CEST on RTBF, VRT Één, France 4, Eurosport, GCN+, TV2, Rai Sport, NOS, SuperSport , ESPN, SBS, Flobikes, Señal Colombia, NBC Sports, J Sports, and Sky Sport.
