AFTER TOKYO OLYMPICS

We’re proud of the team’s seven riders who each represented their countries at the Tokyo Olympic Games. They share a few moments about their experience and what’s next.

Tiffany Cromwell:

“I’m super honoured to have had the opportunity to race at the Olympics for Australia. I’m appreciative of the support of CANYON//SRAM to help me realise a dream.”

Post Olympics? “I went gravel racing! It’s kept things fresh, away from the stresses of the World Tour.”

Omer Shapira:

“I arrived there mentally well-prepared. I felt blessed for the opportunity.”

That road race breakaway? “I raced bravely and in the ITT I did the best I could do on that day. I have no regrets.”

Hannah Ludwig:

“Even after some time, I feel exactly the same as when I got the call that I’d been selected. I’m happy and grateful for the opportunity and still a little surprised about it all.”

Kasia Niewiadoma:

“I had an internal conflict for some time. Like I went to an important bike race but not the Olympics. My race was passive, yet others were so inspiring. I lost a chance, but you don’t lose when you give full focus for something.”

Next goals? “Every single race I have left this season!”

Alena Amialiusik:

“I feel calm and happy that I had that experience in my life one more time. Mentally it was a big challenge with the restrictions.”

Post Olympics? “I had a very easy and lazy week! I slept, rested, and enjoyed summer.”

Chloé Dygert:

“It is such a privilege being able to represent my country and colors. Covid aside, this Games was very different from Rio. Both cycling venues were hours away from the athlete village and it made it feel like a track World Cup. I wanted to win but my body and leg were just not ready. I’m not happy with how the Games went for me but I don’t see what more I could have done to prepare my body.“

Side note? “I had over 90 pins, so performance aside, my pin trading game was strong!”

Lisa Klein:

“It’s been a really exciting and emotional time. I’ve been so surprised how many people have shared this moment with me.”

Next goals? “Europeans and Worlds if I’m selected. I aim to be in the best shape for Paris Roubaix ”
