BAUERNFEIND TAKES ANOTHER WIN FOR CANYON//SRAM GENERATION
Ricarda Bauernfeind has taken victory at UCI 1.2 Groupama Ladies Race Slovakia today. The CANYON//SRAM Racing rider was setup by her teammates and stormed to a solo win in Nová Baňa.
“I’m very happy. It’s super nice to win a UCI race and it was even better to win it solo,” said a delighted Ricarda.
“We had two laps with a 4km-long climb and then two laps with a steep 1.5km-long climb. We wanted to reach the final laps with a smaller bunch, and my teammates could help do that. Antonia especially did a great pace on the climb and we reached the small laps with around 30 riders. I rode my tempo on the steep climb and our group became just 7 riders, including Antonia.”
“On the last lap I went again on the final climb and could go away solo with around 8km to the finish line. I’m happy I could stay away to the end and get this win!” said Ricarda.
CANYON//SRAM Generation will now race Visegrad 4 Ladies Race Pannonhalma in Hungary tomorrow.
