CANYON//SRAM GENERATION READY FOR DURANGO SARIA

CANYON//SRAM Generation will line up at Durango-Durango Emakumeen Saria on Tuesday, 14 May. The team will lineup against several WorldTour teams who have stayed in the Basque country following the finish of the Itzulia Women race two days ago. The lineup is Diane Ingabire, Nastya Kolesava, Maddie Le Roux, Jule Märkl, Daniela Schmidsberger, and Ese Lovina Ukpeseraye.

The 113km race keeps a traditional course of four local laps around Elorrio, with a small climb called Miota each time. After 77km, the peloton faces two smaller circuits with the challenging climbs of Areitio, Goiuria, and Garai with its gradients of up to 18%.

RIDER QUOTES

Nastya Kolesava: “It’s my first time at Durango Durango. I expect a hard because the hard climbs that come towards the end of the race. It will be a good experience for our team and we want to be fighting with the strongest riders at the end.”

Maddie Le Roux: “My previous experience with this race doesn’t exactly hold too good memories as my race ended prematurely with heatstroke. What I do remember is that on the smaller laps, positioning before the climb each time will be important as there’s a rather sharp right turn going into it each time with some road furniture. I’m hoping to improve on my positioning tomorrow, to be able to save energy so I can be helpful for my teammates in the longer climbs in the back end of the race. I’m excited to finally race on some longer climbs.”
