PARTNERSHIP NEWS WITH INSCYD

INSCYD and CANYON//SRAM Racing announce today they have signed a partnership agreement that commences immediately.

The new partnership with INSCYD enables CANYON//SRAM Racing to get a complete metabolic profile of the riders, using a scientifically-validated analysis for females. By using lactate field tests and remote power-only tests, the individual metabolic profile of the riders is identified and tracked over time. Effectively, the team can now effectively obtain exercise laboratory test results without visiting one.

CANYON//SRAM Racing Performance Coach Stephen Gallagher says:

“INSCYD is central to our ability to monitor rider performances and enable us to make better recommendations about training interventions depending on their individual metabolic fitness, event demands, and each rider’s long-term development strategy.”

With the data provided by INSCYD, the team can easily see what an individual athlete should improve to reach their goal as effectively as possible. For example, INSCYD’s Performance Projection will tell performance staff exactly how much a rider’s VO2max should increase to increase the anaerobic threshold by 5%.

Team coaches will use INSCYD functions and metrics to:

  • Create fueling and nutrition plans based on the number of carbohydrates an individual rider burns.
  • Create individual interval training based on lactate accumulation and recovery
  • Use training zones based on master metrics like %VO2max to determine interval intensity and %FatMax to determine endurance training zones.

Stephen Gallagher continues, “We feel using INSCYD to centralise this information and allowing us to track riders during different training phases is crucial to enabling us to maximise our goals. The ability to share information and data within the coaching group and use the insights to communicate with riders and coaches helps us work as a unit with clear goals in training and development. INSCYD will play a key role in our development as we head into the last half of 2022.”

INSCYD’s project leader Sebastian Weber explains the partnership further.

“Partnering with CANYON//SRAM Racing as one of the most successful teams in women’s cycling has been something we have been targeting for a long time. Our unique analysis is tailored and scientifically validated specifically for females. Therefore, the whole team at INSCYD is proud that CANYON//SRAM Racing is leveraging this analysis. We hope this triggers female cyclists worldwide to start questioning their current methods of performance analysis, which are likely only developed and validated for males.”
