Lisa wins BeNe Prologue

Lisa Klein won the opening prologue of the BeNe Ladies Tour last night in Utrecht, The Netherlands. The newly crowned German individual time trial (ITT) champion, won the 3.9km prologue ahead of Ellen van Dijk (TFS) and Amy Pieters (DLT).

“I’m very happy with my result! I was nervous coming into the race, because I’ve just come out of a block of endurance training and I’ve done zero efforts. So, I’m quite surprised with how I fast I could go. It was super painful, but at the same time, I’m very happy with my race!,” said Lisa Klein after the win.

“I had full rain during my prologue but I feel like most of the favourites had similar conditions too. I’m looking forward to this stage race. We have a young group here, including myself and I think we can race well together. Personally, I’ll be aiming to get a stage win in the ITT stage on Saturday,” added Klein.

Klein now leads both the general classification and the points classification ahead of today’s stage one. The 121km road stage from Essen to Roosendaal starts at 13:30CEST and can be followed on Twitter with #BNLT19.
